First, reggae singer Buju Banton was in the news this month because of his best reggae album Grammy nomination. More on that later.

Now Banton, a Jamaican performer whose real name is Mark Anthony Myrie, is in federal prison in Miami, the Miami Herald reports.

He's been in custody since Thursday, arrested on a charge of conspiracy to possess, with intent to distribute, more than 5 kilograms of cocaine, a DEA spokesman said.

[Update, 10:27 a.m., Dec. 14, 2009: Banton allegedly attempted to buy cocaine from an undercover officer in Miami, the Associated Press reports.

According to court documents, Banton and two others contacted a police informant last week about buying cocaine in Sarasota. Drug Enforcement Administration agents say Banton negotiated the purchase and was observed inspecting cocaine offered by the undercover officer. The other men were also arrested Thursday when they allegedly attempted to buy the drugs.

Banton's record label has not commented on his arrest

Well Vybz Kartel was quite a disappointment this year at Sting. After declaring peace with Mavado and the Gullyside I expected him to be ready to take on Bounty Killer. He ran from Bounty after declaring that he would be the Last Man Standing again this year...Not A Good Show from Addi Di Daddi!

BANANA KLAN TAKEOVER AT FABRIC 4TH DECEMBER 2009

Here's some pics from the Banana Klan Take Over at Fabric London from last friday.Unfortuantly we have no crowds shots as Fabric's photo policy doesnt allow this, but the dance was nice and Fabric was an excellent venue. Big Shout Out to all my Banana Klan Ninja's as we tore down the place! Myself, DJ MK, Mr Cosmo, Lee Jawa on the wheels of steel whilst Roots Manuva, Ricky Ranking and Jimmy Screech controlled the mic's. A Big dance cant wait to be involved in the next one. AS MAVADO AND VYBZ KARTEL DECLARE GULLY/GAZA PEACE AT WEST KINGSTON JAMBOREE....BOUNTY KILLER DISSES KARTEL AT SAME SHOW

No sooner had footage of Mavado and Vybz Kartel declaring peace at West Kingston Jamboree in Tivoli Gardens surfaced, Bounty Killer disses Kartel at the very same show. It seems that the 5 Star General is still at war with the Portmore Empire as he cusses Kartel and gets booed for it. The Warlord wants no peace with Kartel and this years Sting Concert seems to be the battleground for a Bounty Killer Vs Vybz Kartel confrontation. Kartel has said that he wont clash with Bounty but we shall wait and see.
